If you travel frequently, be it for work or for leisure, living next to an airport can be very convenient. The biggest part of this convenience is the reduced travel time spent on getting to and from the airport. There are other conveniences that are afforded second hand by this however. An example of such a convenience is that the lower travel time means that there is also less room for variance in travel time due to traffic and the like. This means that you are less likely to have problems being late from factors that are out of your control.

Planes are loud, they have large engines and move very quickly. Depending on how close the home that you are looking at is to the airport, you may find this to be an issue. Some people are very light sleepers meaning that it doesn't take much to wake them up. Since planes are running 24/7, the noise of the planes taking off may present a serious problem for such people. If you are one such person, have kids or live with someone who is a light sleeper, living next to an airport may be a bad idea. This may also be the case if you have pets that are sensitive to noise. Some pets will start barking or making noise at any noises that they hear. Others may get stressed.

Airports have a large number of jobs in them for people of all different qualifications. A lot of people don't even think about the amount of jobs that are available at airports. If you have a particular interest in air travel or tourism, a job that is based in an airport may be something that would suit you well. In addition to there being jobs in many different fields, there are also jobs at various different levels. Living near an airport means that you will have better access to these opportunities.
Pollution
Pollution is an issue that is often overlooked when people are thinking about where they want to live. Airports tend to have significantly increased pollution when compared with other areas. There are studies that link living near airports with an increase in risk of developing asthma. If you are particularly at risk of developing respiratory problems, then moving to live somewhere that is close to an airport may not be the right decision for you.
